What Died Over There?

Summer has officially started for me at my job now that I am out in the field (a literal field) for at least four hours a day. I think it's pretty sweet. Yesterday and today I noticed vultures overhead; three of them to be exact. I like to call vultures "sopilotes", which is Spanish for "vulture". It's a funny word.

Yesterday they were circling a little southeast down from the field and today they were circling a little to the northwest of us--above a construction site. I wonder why they have been around so much lately. I usually see more hawks during the year than vultures. I guess they have found more food with all of the construction going on around that area.
