A leader in all things spicy, the McIlhenny family introduced TABASCO® Original Red hot sauce in 1868, and it continues to be the go-to hot sauce in restaurants and homes. The sauce is made by combining salt, vinegar and red pepper, which is aged for three years. I enjoy adding dashes of the hot sauce in my homemade chili. My husband has used TABASCO® Original Red to make Buffalo wings that definitely needed a side of ranch dressing. Although I am not a huge fan of eating spicy foods, my family loves to add TABASCO® Original Red to their eggs, breakfast burritos and dips. TABASCO® Original Red is "So Much More Than Hot" because it enhances the flavor of food so it brings out every flavor, even those you didn’t notice.
With football season in full swing, and the Super Bowl just around the corner, TABASCO® Original Red is a great addition to pizza. Some people add TABASCO® Original Red and extra cheese to pizzas. Other ways to add TABASCO® Original Red to a pizza includes combining the sauce with an equal part of olive oil and drizzling it over a pizza topped with prosciutto and arugula, adding the hot sauce to the pesto in a pesto pizza or adding it to barbeque sauce in a BBQ chicken pizza. A great way to make pizza and TABASCO® Original Red a game day tradition is to experiment with different ways to add the hot sauce to pizza so everyone loves it using the Pizza Perfected page as a guide.
