Non-stinky screen cleaning wipes

I HATE having fingerprints on my laptop screen, so I was excited to try Brilliant Screen Cleaning Wipes from Black Diamond Cleaners, the makers of a glasses cleaning solution I reviewed at the beginning of the school year (which I still use and still think is awesome). The screen cleaning wipes come with SR-8, scratch resistant coating that creates an invisible, durable barrier that protects screens 50 times more form scratching. The SR-8 component is supposed to help protect against re-soiling as well. The solution in the cleaning wipes, according to Black Diamond, “provides gentle, superior cleaning to any electronic screen and removes dust, dirt, finger prints and makeup.”

My Take

The Brilliant screen cleaning wipes are part of a two-step system—a wet cloth and dry cloth. At first I was confused about the need to have two cloths, but then I saws that the cleaning solution contains no ammonia or alcohol. Therefore, the solution in the wet cloth will not evaporate on its own without leaving a streak-free surface. This is not a bad thing, though. Right away, I noticed there were no harsh smells; the cleaning solution is virtually scent-free (bonus!). 

I used one cleaning wipe for my laptop screen, cell phone and 42-inch television screen. After wiping a surface with the wet cloth, I immediately followed it with the dry one. It took minimal effort to get the smudges off my laptop screen and cell phone. The TV was really dusty, and it looked noticeably better after I cleaned it. I was most weary of using it on my cell phone because I have to touch the screen to perform any function. However, after cleaning the phone and continuing to use it, the screen still looks pretty clean. 

I like that the wet cleaning cloth is not sopping wet with cleaning solution, so you do not have to worry about ruining electronic products. Additionally, you could totally save the dry cloth to continue to clean other items, like glasses lenses, cell phone screens and other items that use a touch screen.

This is a good product and I recommend it, especially if you are sensitive to scents.
