Get Your AV Components Connected

I love it when inventions make life simpler. Take the HDMI cable, for example. Instead of trying to reach around the back of your TV to connect the wires with the red, yellow and white ends to their corresponding slots, you simply plug in a single HDMI cable instead.

I recently tested the gold-plated HDMI® cable by Solid Cordz®. Yeah -- gold-plated...fancy. According to Solid Cordz, gold-plated connectors transfer the signal the best. Other features of the HDMI cable include:

My Thoughts

I had my husband help me with this review because he knows more about AV components and HDMI cables than me.

We have a PlayStation 3. The cable is simple to hook up from the PS3 to the TV. I also like that the cable is long because I don't need to have the PS3 or another device (like a laptop) right next to the TV.

I expected the picture and sound quality to be good, and it was. The HDMI cable worked exactly as promised. We've had problems in the past with hooking up the PS3 to the TV using other HDMI cables, but this one worked well from the start.

The cost of the HDMI cables is the icing on the cake. At the time of publiction, you get two gold-plated HDMI® cables for $35 on Amazon.com. In the past, I've paid almost this much for one cable from a different company. My husband says that cost of the cables is a good value considering their high quality.

Basically, if you don't know anything about HDMI cables and need to get one, but don't know which one to choose, you can't go wrong with these gold-plated ones.
