Official fat collecting station

This is a funny Disney cartoon made to encourage people to save their grease for wartime efforts.

My comments:

  • Do not grab a cast iron skillet with your bare hands or with only a pair of thin white gloves.
  • Do not feed your dog hot grease, or any grease for that matter.
  • I think the only fat collecting stations today are located at liposuction clinics.

Saint Flora

While doing research on patron saints for an article, I came across the following from Word Bytes:

Saint Flora of Beaulieu did not like her cloistered life in the convent. She felt tempted to return home to her family, but she stayed in the order and eventually God rewarded her with the gifts of visions and prophecies.

This is hilarious. I'd probably run away from a convent too!

Kentucky Derby danger

The morning workouts were canceled prior to the races today at Churchill Downs do to the wind and rains. However, this did not stop 155,000 Derby fans from showing up...and doing things they would never let their children do. Like, stick their heads in plastic bags.

Click on each image to enlarge.

Main caption: Warning to avoid danger of suffocation,
keep this plastic bag away from babies, children and
those at the Kentucky Derby. The plastic bag could
block nose and mouth and prevent breathing.
This bag is not a toy or a fashion accessory.
