A lack of consideration

I seriously wonder what possesses some people to call an invite others to lunch an hour before the meal, change the location of the restaurant and fail to tell some of the invitees for the up-teenth time. Some people are so flaky, and worse, unavoidable. What to do...what to do? Deny future invitations, I guess.
