Harvest Your Newborn’s Stem Cells

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of CryoCell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

The issues surrounding stems cells are still in 2010 are highly debated topics. Once thought to only come from unborn fetuses, the public is now more knowledgeable in regards to how stem cells are obtained. Doctors can harvest stem cells from an adult’s nose, bone marrow and the developing tooth bud of the mandibular molar in a child. An even easier way to harvest stem cells is by extracting them from a baby’s umbilical cord blood.

Gross, but Beneficial
While the thought of extracting a baby’s umbilical cord sounds disgusting, it’s worth it. Here are some reasons why:
  • There are no risks involved for the mother and baby
  • The mother and baby do not feel any pain
  • The process is not invasive, unlike collecting stem cells from bone marrow
  • The host’s body accepts cord blood stem cells better
  • Blood stem cells are easy to bank and access
  • If you use your own cells, you do not have to worry about finding matching stem cells
  • Your other children may be able to use your baby’s cord blood stem cells if needed
  • U-cord blood stem cells can help treat over 75 diseases, and have been used in over 12,000 transplants worldwide
Cryo-Cell
The future is here and Cryo-Cell has the technology to save your baby’s umbilical cord blood. While many parents choose to donate their baby’s umbilical cord to a public bank, the family no longer has ownership of the stem cells and they may not be available for your family to use in the future. However, when you bank at Cryo-Cell, you’ll have peace of mind knowing you can access the stem cells at no cost to you if they are needed in the future for a transplant.

Saving a baby’s U-Cord stem cells does require a family to make an investment. However, at less than $3 per week for storage fees after you baby’s first year of life, the cost of this investment is cheaper than buying a cup of gourmet coffee.
