How to Use Activated Charcoal

I received the following products in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed are 100 percent my own. This post contains affiliate links.

Activated charcoal is wood, bamboo, rice, coconut shells or other organic products that are burned past the point of combustion. Oxidizing gases then activate it. The result is a product with pores that bind, trap and absorb chemicals and toxins. I had never used activated charcoal until I received a bottle of supplements from Natures True Medicine. The capsules are white and the powder inside is dark grey.

Note: Use activated charcoal 2 hours before or after taking medication or supplements. Just as it absorbs toxins, activated charcoal may absorb the ingredients, vitamins and minerals in drugs and supplements.

Keep in mind that activated charcoal may temporarily stain your skin. It is also a good idea to talk to your doctor about your ailments before using activated charcoal. Consult a veterinarian before administering it to a pet.
