The Abbey Road Sessions is Kylie's latest album. Already released in Australia, there is a lot of buzz in the U.S. about the tracks, which feature Kylie's top hits over her 25-year recording career as part of her K25 celebration. The album was recorded in London's legendary Abbey Road Studios with a full orchestra, hence the name of the compilation. All 16 of the tracks on the album are remixes of favorites like "Can't Get You Out of My Head," "I Should Be So Lucky" and "The Locomotion." Also featured is the previously unreleased "Flower."
The first thing I thought when I saw the cover of The Abbey Road Sessions is that the remixes were going to be big-band-like. The artwork has a big-band feel, but the tracks are anything but. Kylie keeps a lot of the pop throughout the songs, but the incorporation of classic orchestral music is welcome. Among my favorites are "Come into My World," "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and "I Believe in You," which sounds a bit like folk music.
If you like Kylie's music, The Abbey Road Sessions will make a good addition to your collection.
