Gourmet Pet Food: Is it Worth the Cost? (Giveaway)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

This is my cat. Her name is Mango, but we call her "Meow" and "Baby Cat." She has a heart-shaped nose and highly sensitive tummy.

R&R is her job.
While my cat loves to chow down on any food in her bowl, most regular cat foods make her sick to her stomach. My husband and I hate cleaning cat barf, so we buy her the special science-y food that you can only find in pet and specialty stores. It's expensive, but it helps...somewhat.

When Petbrosia offered the opportunity to try its special blend of pet food, I jumped at the opportunity. I was particularly interested in the fact that the pet food does not contain animal by-products, corn, soy and wheat.

The Petbrosia Experience

When you create an account with Petbrosia, you enter the following information about your pet:
  • Species
  • Breed
  • Birthday
  • Weight
  • Activity level
  • Food allergies
  • Picture (optional)
There is also a section where you write any additional information that you think the company should know. I wrote about my cat's tummy issues. The Petbrosia website states that it uses this information to make a tailored blend of food for your pet.

The cat food arrived to my home a few days after I ordered it. The packing slip contained all the information that I provided about my cat. If I had uploaded a picture, it would have also appeared.

I mixed some of the Petbrosia cat food with my cat's regular food so her tummy could get used to the new ingredients. When my husband got home, he said that the food I cooked smelled good. I told him that he was smelling the new cat food. (I think it smells like French fries.) My cat eventually started picking out the Petbrosia food from the mix, which I take as a sign that she likes the taste.

I have noticed that while my cat still has some tummy troubles, they are less frequent.

My only gripe about the Petbrosia food is its cost, as it's more expensive than the other fancy blend that she ate. However, the company does help initially offset the cost with coupon codes.
