Gentle Mud Mask Review

I received the products mentioned in exchange for an unbiased review on my blog. This post contains affiliate links, meaning that I receive a small commission if you click on an Amazon.com link and make a purchase.

I have sensitive skin. It's so sensitive that I avoid many types of mud masks because they irritate it. While wearing the masks, my skin feels tight and irritated. When I wash off the mask, the skin underneath is bright red...no good.

When I read that the Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask from Adovia was gentle enough for those who have eczema or psoriasis, I jumped on board to get it a try. Adovia claims that it:
  • Tightens skin
  • Purifies pores
  • Contains 21 minerals found in the Dead Sea
  • Treats acne
  • Reduces black heads
  • Works as a spot treatment and blackhead remover
When I first put the mud mask on, I expected it to smell like dirt or salt, but it didn't. It has a pleasant, mild smell. The mask also is not chunky; it's smooth and glides over my skin with ease.

When I first used the mask, I left it on for 20 minutes. After rinsing the mask off, I noticed that the blackheads on my nose were gone. They didn't come back for about three days.

I used the mask again last night, but didn't notice any difference in the appearance in my pores. The things I did differently include using a thinner layer of the mask on my face and only leaving it on for about 10 minutes. For the best results, I think I need to apply a thicker layer of the mask and leave it on longer.

I don't really have any complaints about the mask. I like the packaging and the fact that I don't have to stick my fingers into a pot of mud, which can promote the growth of bacteria. I also like that the mask is gentle on my skin. I would recommend this product to those seeking a mask for their own sensitive skin.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
